We had a wonderful time last weekend in Tobermory with 50+ divers taking to the refreshingly clear and turquoise waters of Tobermory to explore the various shipwrecks and grottos of Georgian Bay. I brought my son Sam and his friend Connor to holiday there for almost a week, where the boys snorkelled, rode their bikes, rocked the high ropes course at "Little Cove Adventures" (while Momma hugged a pole 30 feet up in the air unable to move for fear of death by mangulation - another new word), and visited the ice cream and sweet shops that empty your pocket book faster than a rocket-full of monkeys hopped up on speed with super accelerator nitro packs in their hot little hands. One of the best parts for me? Getting up in the morning while the sleepy heads snore away the early part of the day, pouring Baileys in my coffee, sitting on the porch with my favourite pooch, reading Paul Mila's "Dangerous Waters". Dangerous Waters by Paul Mila Terry Hunter is a beautiful and sharp young woman with a graduate degree in marine science whose first love is the ocean. When tragedy befalls her in the waters of the Channel Islands off the California coast, she starts over in Cozumel - rebuilding her life as a successful business woman running her own dive operation. However, danger follows her here too, as she accidentally stumbles upon a deadly drug smuggling ring and finds herself in mortal danger. The PERFECT reading companion for a dive weekend; if you can't be in the water diving, the next best thing is reading about diving! A fun read! WARNING: Adventure Sports Newmarket customers, please don't get too hung up on a certain violent shark scene; this will never happen to you. You will be lucky if you spot a shark on a warm water dive; really! Dangerous Waters is the first in a series, featuring the adventures of Terry and Joe (and scuba diving); Paul's next book is "Whales' Angels", followed by "Fireworks" and then his most recent novel, "Near Miss". Paul Mila lives with his family in New York, and has a beachfront condo in Cozumel - you can rent it: http://www.paulmila.com/contact.html ORDER FROM AMAZON CANADA More about Paul's books: http://www.paulmila.com/

Photo Album from last year's "Liveaboard Adventure"! Tobermory was THE FUNNEST (new word)! We started out enjoying an impromptu night dive at "The Tugs". The sunset was beautiful, and the night was calm - perfect! Quite a few scuba folks came to warm up for the Tobermory dive weekend, hone their skills, have some fun in the water, and, of course, to chat and visit with other divers. What a great bunch! There is an album HERE to check out the night diving shots on deck. Saturday night BBQ Again, is there a bunch of people anywhere that are happier or more fun? NO! Thank-you everyone for joining us at our BBQ. We really enjoyed relaxing and just hanging out. We had more than 50 dive-family members there to share in the kinship. We are truly blessed that everything worked out so well this weekend. Great weather, happy people - what else could we possibly ask for? Thanks Belle, for taking some photos for us! Check out the album HERE. The Grotto boat Some of us enjoyed a trip to the Grotto and dove the caves there. Some of the pics on the boat are HERE, but unfortunately my GoPro is stupid and nothing turned out under the water. I will keep trying. For me a dive is rated on how well the photos turn out... boo. Next time! Thank-you Everyone Again, thank-you for trusting us to plan your dive weekend, and sharing your time, your stories and your laughter. We were so happy to share ours with you! Until next time...Love, Laugh, DIVE! Thank-you to everyone who came out to our monthly dive club meeting this month! It is always so nice to take a break from the rat race and hang out together. We are now booking our Christmas party venue, and proceeds from the 50/50 draw this year will be organized to subsidize Christmas dinner tickets for club members. :) We are anticipating fun. Wednesday's Night Dive Nice to see folks out diving and honing their skills and having fun (even though it was a chilly night)! At right: Jody, Steve, and Roger say, "Oh boy, that water is nice and refreshing"! New faces and "Old" faces! It was really nice to see Aly out for a dive this Wednesday! If you were around the shop last year, you would remember Aly; she busily filled your tanks and helped Jody navigate through his first summer at the shop (no easy task)! Well, she finally got to come out dive just for fun; I hope she will make it out to more dives with us, but of course, she is a busy girl with school and work! Well, our big Tobermory trip is just around the corner and there are things to do...see you there!
