Our Story
by Jill Smith (wife of shop owner) We took the leap into the dive shop business in 2013; Jody was already a PADI Professional diver, but he loved it, and wondered if he could make a career out of sharing this wonderful sport with others. And what an adventure! The hours were long for a small business guy, and Sam and I seldom saw Jody at all. He worked 7 days a week, and didn't come home before we went to bed. I worked, and drove our son to his activities in the evening, and sometimes we visited Jody at the store. Now, Jody has wonderful staff to make things work better (meet our staff!), though he still usually works 7 days a week, whether at the store, in the lake, or on the boat. He loves his work! Sam and I love to dive with Jody, and through the shop we have been blessed with some pretty amazing diving experiences (swimming with whale sharks, watching sea turtles hatch, helping with ocean conservation efforts, diving in cenotes and awesome shipwrecks, and so much more! We never expected our lives to take this adventurous turn, but we are so grateful it did! If you are a diver, we would love to dive with you wherever your diving heart wishes to take you, and if you are thinking of becoming a diver, then we would be pretty excited to share this awesome journey with you!
