Club Code of Conduct
Members of the Adventure Sports Club, hereinafter known as (the Club), are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the Mission, Vision and Values of the Club. The club has set forth these statements to clarify and guide the members as they participate in Club sponsored events, meetings or other functions. The Club will consider these underlying principles the foundation for creating and maintaining a membership that will enjoy the
activity of diving in a safe, knowledgeable and responsible manner.

Integrity
Members shall conduct themselves in a manner that is in compliance with the local law, code or ordinance, as well as Club Rules, and act with respect to the environment. Specia care will be taken when diving in areas that contain fragile or protected plants, animals or artifacts so as not to damage or
otherwise disturb them.
Knowledge
Members shall
dive in a manner consistent with their level of experience and education and will dive in a safe and responsible manner.
Safety
Members shall always consider their safety and the safety of others when diving. Unsafe diving practices will not be tolerated and all members must maintain vigilance for unsafe conditions or situations and act responsibly.
Club Management
The Club will be managed by a President and Executive Members. The Executive Members will be appointed by the
President and consist of members able to conduct the portion of club business
assigned to them.
Executive members
Executive members may be responsible for but not limited to the following functions:
Monthly meetings will be held for the Members. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday evening of the month but may change from time to time at the discretion of the Club President. The location and time of the meeting will be communicated in the Club newsletter or by e-mail.
Additional meetings for Executive members only will be held at the discretion of the Club President.
Only Members, Applicant Members or guests approved by the Club President may attend the Club meetings.
Events and other Activities
Club Sponsored Events
Only Members may attend Club sponsored events. Non-members may attend from time to time only if the non-members pay nonmember event costs and are approved by the President. Non-members should be encouraged to become members if they wish to attend club events.
Membership Term
The term of Club membership is one year, commencing on January 1st and ending on December 31st of the year.
Dues
Membership dues are decided annually by the President and Executive Members. Due amounts will be communicated as required in the monthly Club Meetings. Dues will be collected prior to acceptance of membership and are for the entire year. Partial year memberships are not offered except under specific circumstances for new members.
New Applicants
Applications for membership will be accepted throughout the year. Applications are available from The Club President or any Executive Member.
Only new Members will be offered a reduced membership dues based on a calculation of 1/12 of the total fee per month multiplied by the number of months of the year remaining in the first year of their membership. Existing members are not offered this discount and are expected to maintain annual membership.
Approval Process
Membership applications will be reviewed by the President and Executive members during Executive Member meeting sessions. Applicants will be
notified of their acceptance or denial at the next scheduled club meeting.
Disciplinary Actions and Procedures
Suspension
A Member may be suspended from participating in a Club activity for violating any portion the Dive Club Code of Conduct and Rules. Any suspensions will be considered and decided upon by the President.
Dismissal
A Member may be dismissed from membership in the Club for violating any portion the Dive Club Code of Conduct and Rules. If a member is dismissed, there will be no refund of Club Membership dues. Any dismissals will be considered and decided upon by the President and Executive members.
